Elsje Sturtevant
Elsje Sturtevant paints colorful pastels evocative of the open sky and pervasive water of her native Holland. She expresses her love of color in bold abstract shapes infused with light which suggest landscapes. While her work days as a nurse are spent ministering to the demands of the body, her paintings speak to the longings of the soul.
