Elsje Sturtevant
My paintings are abstracted, imaginary landscapes, often of the low horizons and magnificent skies of Holland where I grew up. My greatest joy in painting, though, comes from using vibrant colors that contrast or enhance each other, making the painting come alive. While my work days as a nurse are spent ministering to the demands of the body, my paintings speak to the longings of the soul.
